PRITG is an initiative under the Khelo India Scheme aimed to disseminate information and pique the curiosity of the present generation about these games and encourage children and youth to take up rural, indigenous and tribal games in a major way, paving way for their mainstreaming. Under PRITG scheme, competitions/demonstrations may be held for rural, indigenous and tribal games. These competitions/demonstrations may be single/multi-discipline. Financial support will be provided to NGOs and Sports Federations/Associations, organizations associated with such games for promotion of these games through different activities.
Schools and colleges play a vital role in driving the change and promoting sports for women. In order to further promote the involvement of more women athletes in sports and physical activities, Schools/Colleges can host in-house tournaments specifically for their women students and obtain certificates for themselves and the participant athletes.
